Wicklow Fine Foods

Wicklow Fine Foods was established by Jim and Mary Healy in 2001. The company began making chocolates in 2003 under its own brand - Wicklow Fine Foods, having previously focused on making waffle biscuits and chocolate spread products for the speciality food market. The company introduced "The Chocolate Garden of Ireland" brand in 2005 to give a stronger identity to its chocolates and to reflect its location in Co. Wicklow, which is known as the "Garden of Ireland".

Our chocolatiers undertake training regularly to help them to innovate and create even more variety and spectacular taste sensations; this has resulted in the company winning numerous awards. In 2008 alone, the company won three gold awards in the Great Taste Awards in the Ireland - UK internationally renowned competition.

In January 2008, the company acquired an Organic Ice Cream company and supplies many of the leading retail chains including Tesco and Supervalu, in addition to private label for a small number of retailers.

Wicklow Fine Foods employs 14 staff and can offer bespoke / private label products to customers when volume warrants it. A new factory was completed in summer 2009 and "The Chocolate Garden", as it is called, now hosts a chocolate café and ice cream parlour; as well as accommodating chocolate tours and parties.

The company is approved by the Health Board and operates a HACCP system as well as retaining a private company, Hygiene Excellence, to monitor hygiene management procedures.
